Sanctuary with a side of Steampunk.

(And the best part is that when I was editing the cap, no matter WHAT effect I used and even though he is standing in the corner of the shot behind Nigel and facing away from the camera, the most noticeable element in the whole picture was Nikola's mustache. Then I made the picture smaller, and the scary mustache went away. Sort of. Thank goodness.)

I have no idea how long I'll actually be able to handle staring at this, but I have a new banner! With a pairing I don't even ship! Well...sort of. It's complicated. :)

Fun things with this one include, but are not limited to, playing with textures, making it possible to have more than one texture at once, learning how to play with opacity, real quotations from the actual Tesla, and somehow restraining myself from utilizing a superfluous lensflare.

Annoyances include, but are not limited to, THE LIGHTING, the part where his face is really angular and hers is not (which made some otherwise great effects unusable), the part where his eyes are weird, and the part where I could not make that tooth less shiny.

Next up: matching icon.

This afternoon, I thought "I need a Declan icon". And now I have six Declan icons (including an unexpectedly EVIL! version), six Magnus icons, a few with James, some with John (and John's shiny, shiny head!), and even one with Will.

I would just like to note that the lighting in Sanctuary, not to mention the excessively rich backdrops, makes icon making much more difficult than I'm used to. Thank goodness for Elements! I wish his pout came through better. And also that I hadn't broken science by making that icon post a few days ago and then changing all my icons...

I spent about two hours yesterday trying to cram "Well it's a good thing we have magic glass stick that we don't know how to use, otherwise I would be worried." on to an icon. It didn't work.

I've more or less given up any semblance of productivity tonight. Instead I made icons! One of which I am insanely proud of, even though it was kind of an accident! As you do!

In conclusion, Sanctuary is a real pain to make icons out of because it's REALLY DARK ALL THE TIME. And also because there isn't really a good place to find screencaps. So if you know one, please point me to it. I really, really want an icon of Ashley but between all her scenes being in the dark and the actress having a really expressive face, it's not easy to do.

I have a new layout. By which I mean header and matching icon. Because my attention span is short, and there are many pretty things on the internet, and because I have loved this ship for MY ENTIRE LIFE.

(Okay, since I was five. That's more than 20 years and therefore close enough.)

Photoshop elements on Work!Mac is definitely my friend, though I haven't abandoned the lens flare.

I am going to have to make a TAG at this point. And I am totally not writing fic.

Have emailed a few people. I really should get phone numbers for people, even though I don't have a phone. I can google-call them, in any case.

Also, I found a bag of frozen berries in the freezer. That makes my future of oatmeal much more palatable. Pun intended.

Toothy and partial to Scottish redheads. So...pretty much like always. ;) (Remember how that one time way back in the Stone Age, Tom Cruise jumped up and down on a couch and shouted "I'm in love with Katie Holmes!"? That's kind of how I feel about Amy. Except I am not creepy. And I was jumping on my bed. And I was saying "Amy Pond".)
