Now that we're finished, I am going to go ahead and call my favourite moment of the Games.

Marianne St-Gelais watches the Mens 500m Final (They do cut away before you see how she gets back up over the rail, but she's still freaking adorable. I love that she was as happy with her silvers as she was...and that he did pretty much the same thing during her races, including the ending!)

...I'm going to have to download that song, so I can cry on command at any point in the future.

I still think someone at CTV needs to sit all their commentators down and tell them to STOP MODIFYING THE WORD "UNIQUE"!

I may be stoned out of my gourd on painkillers, but I am so tempted to hop on the subway and get my arse down to Yonge street.

Dude, I'm in Barrie, and I am tempted to drive to the (right part of) Yonge Street!

I think I'll go for Virtue and Moir singing O Canada. In no small part for now clearly happy Davis and White were for them.

Yeah, that was pretty great too. But I was trying to limit myself to one, and I loved that Marianne basically spent a minute and a half demonstrating pure joy on someone else's behalf. Virtue and Moir and definitely my runner up!

My non-North American moment was Maria Reich rushing to console her sister before she celebrated her gold.

And my American moment has to be Lindsay Vonn's gold.

Google is not helping me...what happened with Reisch?

Lindsay Vonn was pretty awesome too. And that Nordic combined gold! That was incredible.

In the Slalom Susanna Riesch was in fourth after the first run and in a good position to medal in the same event as her sister Maria. A few minutes before Maria's second (gold medal winning) run, Susanna missed a gate and was basically destraught. Maria Riesch finished her second run, finds out she wins the gold, and immediately goes to hug her sister and tell her she was proud of her.

For the extra topping on that Olympic Moment, Lindsay Vonn missed a gate on her first run, and waited hours in the rain to watch her friend Maria win her second gold.
