Battlestar Galacticake

grav_ityThat's right, my friends, in the midst of the various and sundry eruptions that surrounded the finale of Battlestar Galactica, there was a cake. A Battlestar Galacticake.
THE SCENE: Rachel's kitchen (also, incidentally, where we made the Corn on the Cupcakes last summer).
THE KITCHEN AID: Seriously, my friends, if I never make another cake, I will die happy having used that thing. It was AWESOME.
This is what I used for the crest on the top of the ship. It's not quite as...scruffy as I was hoping for, but it worked.
Here we have it, ready for detailing. The shape isn't perfect, but you get the idea.
The Battlestar Galacticake. Which for some reason I did not take top shots of, but whatever! And it was DELICIOUS. :)
Now, on to planning the birthday cake!
