Yes, I'm counting it twice because that's how many times this year I have read it. :)

MY FEELINGS, I tell you. This book is probably, plot-wise, the weakest of the entire series and yet I ABSOLUTELY DON'T CARE because the characters that Mary Balogh have given us need very little plot to work with.

I love that when the wedding is interrupted, Percy just disappears with Eastham for two minutes, starts a bar fight, and then comes back to the wedding, and everyone's all "That was totally in character". There are so many moments like that throughout. It's a delight.

I ALSO really like how George decides to marry Dora almost exactly the same way he decided to open his house as a hospital. Like, I read both paragraphs back to back and, just, SOMEONE HUG GEORGE ALREADY.

(but for real: the whole point of this book is that George has been hugging this whole time, but since he's mostly be GIVING them and LISTENING to everyone else, he's never learned how to RECEIVE HELP and then HE DOES and I JUST.)

(I'm a little sad we don't get to see the scene Flavian describes, where all the Survivors try to think of people that George can marry, because in my head, Hugo is all "OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD" and then immediately lists ten people and is half-way out the door to make arrangements for the wedding before someone mentions that maybe they should ask George first.)

And Dora. I love her. Because she was happy. And then she changed. And then she was happy!
