Only a Kiss was a re-read for me. I didn't have time to read the whole series, before BELOVED came out, but I might now. I mean, the WHOLE series, not just the Survivors' Club books. I really, really adore the connections between the various series that Balogh has built up.
ANYWAY
So Only Beloved! When I started this series back in 2013, I remember yelling "GEORGE JUST WANTS GRANDBABIES!" a lot, and in a way, that was very true. Mary Balogh constructed the series so well, that I though it might be SIX books, and then when I realized it was SEVEN, I wondered what the heck George's book would be about. And then it was perfect. He can help anyone, but he is fundamentally incapable of receiving help himself. He buried that part, and he doesn't even realize it.
But Dora does. Wonderful, practical, Dora, who was content and then became HAPPY, and I love her.
(Oh, I wanted it to be her so badly, before we knew for sure it would be. AND THEN IT WAS. It almost makes Flavian worth the trouble.)
ANYWAY
I remain delighted by this series and by Mary Balogh and OMG IT'S OVER WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MY LIFE NOW?
