So!
I put off watching this show F.O.R.E.V.E.R., in spite of it being Star Wars, available, interesting, and whatnot. I did this for one very simple reason: I knew it was going to break my heart. It's not just that I'm going to watch Jedi do stuff before they get murdered (because I am), and it's not just that I'll watch the clones and the jedi be friends (because I am), but I'll also have to get to know more individual clones (besides Rex and Cody), and that will just be awful.
But also, I am kind of bored.
SO I STARTED. And, yup, in the VERY FIRST EPISODE Yoda's all "TAKE OFF YOUR HELMETS SO I CAN PERSONALIZE MY PEP TALK!", and when his clones troopers are all "We should go off and die as a distraction!" Yoda's all "WEREN'T YOU LISTENING EARLIER WHEN I TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE PEOPLE?" and basically I just wanted to die on the spot.
And then Face Dude wouldn't let his clone troopers die, and then Anakin felt really awful for getting some of his troopers killed, and Obi-wan can tell them apart when they are wearing their goddamn uniforms and I am only on the fifth episode.
It's not without problems, obviously. Asohka is pretty great, but I'm having trouble getting my head around the idea that anyone let Anakin near a Padawan. It's possible that I'm disconnected from her because she's not mentioned in RotS, which TERRIFIES ME (and seriously: I have made it this far in life without finding out what happens to her so PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME). Anyway, I'm willing to give her some time. There's only been one episode with Padmé so far, and it was KIND OF AWFUL. Also, the writing is a bit uneven, but apparently I'm watching the episodes in the wrong order?
Whatever, I am choosing to focus on the good. Even though that will probably result in something like this:
Clone Wars, A Summary
Clone of the Week: We're just clones! We're expendable!
Jedi of the Week: Not to me, you're not!
Kate of the Week: STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT
As you do.
(This probably means I'll watch REBELS eventually too. At this rate, sometime in 2030)
