I swear, this is the most Yuletide reading I've ever done. Which is, I guess, what happens when I am by myself for Christmas?

Anyway!

Queen and Consequence - The Princess Diaries.

I love this one because, in addition to being funny and capturing all the characters (and pears!) with perfection, it's also about the "real" Queen of Genovia watching a movie about herself, starring Anne Hathaway. There are Chris Pine jokes that are simply not to be missed. It's beautiful.

Sunrose Transplanted - The Trickster Books

Sarai makes a pretty understandable, if selfish, choice in "Trickster's Queen". This fic is the outcome of her decisions. It's not all easy, being out of the plots and conspiracies, but she does her best. Also, we get to see Empress Kalasin, which doesn't happen enough, as far as I am concerned.

Brightness All Around - The Protector of the Small

Wyldon asks Kel if she would like a puppy. I'm not even freaking kidding. Gods all bless.

With All Brightness - Lilo & Stitch

My feelings, you guys. MY. FEELINGS.

Delete Selected Email? - The Anger of Jonathan Franzen

Remember the time Jonathan Franzen got mad at Twitter and insulted, like, EVERYONE ALIVE? Fandom never forgets, that's for sure. And fandom is pretty damn clever about it. This is a series of movie proposals, and it does not disappoint (anyone except Jonathan Franzen, presumably).

Seeds of a Rose - Stealing Fire

Lydias. Lydias. Lydias. Lydias. Lydias.

I can't even.

Ahah you and I have way too similar taste in ficcing! I've read/loved at least several of those already lol

I was a little sad about the STRIKE BACK offering, but I guess it's to be expected, since neither of us got the other (and I forgot to request John/Katie anyway!).

Yeah, it was only for the actual series instead of the Miniseries... I think? I haven't seen any of the larger part (since I didn't not want to watch the onscreen fridging lol) so I didn't even offer for it.

I really want to get my ass in gear and watch more of MI5 for next year though. Lucas North is such a cool character with all his flaws and tatoos lol

DID I TELL YOU THAT I WATCHED THE ONSCREEN FRIDGING BY ACCIDENT AND IT WAS AWFUL AND MY SOUL DIED A LITTLE BIT THAT DAY?

Um, yeah, those wires are best left un-crossed, is what I am saying.

I need to go back to Spooks. I've almost recovered from my Roz/Home Secretary feelings.

edit: you don't have a twitter, do you?

Yes yes you did. I have NEVER been so glad for spoilers, let me tell you what!

And yeah, there are so freaking many feelings with that show. I had to stop for a while cuz I just flat wasn't sleeping. I went through seasons 1-the beginning/middle of 7 I think in oh... less than a month? I'd get to the end of an episode and be like... but but but I know I have to be up and at work in 5 hours but maybe just one more ep? I could do that right?... er. Nope. Apparently not lol.

And no - I just don't understand twitter at all. It's more confusing for me than tumblr is even. Why do you ask? (Oh btw, would you prefer the Jan 10th thing on like a blogspot site or LJ? I definitely have more presence on LJ but its not as blog-like I guess? IDEK)

RE-ASSIGNED TO NEW ZEALAND. THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED.

(OMG, that LITERALLY HAPPENS to a character on Spooks, and I laughed so hard I cried. Also, it's totally a throw-away joke in my second book, and you and Amy are the only two people alive who will get it.)

Twitter is amazing, but also profoundly dumb unless you're networking for something. I just like yelling at THE HOBBIT on it sometimes, is all. LJ is fine for the Jan 10 thing. I'll link to it, and the comments are better than they are on blogspot. ;)

TOTALLY. ABSOLUTE HEADCANON. THE GUNSHOT VICTIM WAS A BODY DOUBLE. BECAUSE OF REASONS.

(AHAHAHA I don't think I caught that! So so much love and giggling - I'll be on the look out in book 2 then as well lol)

Yeah I know I probably should be there for networking particularly since I want to try to pitch agents this year on the Lucifer story and possibly on the psychic soldeir story (if I can get it finished which I'm supposed to be doing as it's "due" by the end of the year... well hello procrastination). I just don't even know how to begin on setting up an account that wouldn't just get completely abandoned or be buried in fangirling lol.

And whoot! That works. Now I just need to figure out which of my flaily notes will work as a longer review lol

That was my response to Seeds of a Rose, with a bit more flailing about the fact that it was written for me and is thus even more awesome. I have no idea how my response was coherent, and am just hoping the author gets how squeeful I really was.

Yuletide is weird for that, sometimes, because most of the people I review for, I review for consistently enough that they UNDERSTAND me. At Yuletide, I'm always over-explaining, because otherwise I just look like a crazy person, flapping all over the comments section.

But, Lydias. I can't. I JUST LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

Take heart, at least in our tiny Jo Graham novels fandom we know most of the writers, so they might already know how to handle our brand of flailing squeefully? This is my fervent prayer, at least.

Lydias is a thing of joy and love for forever, all must know this.

True!

My gift was from Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl, and there's no way I know the person (probably), so it was fun!

It's a possibility. ;-)

RIGHT? Like, I NEVER get matched for some reason, but at least we all know who we are. :)
