Chinese New Year

It is once again Chinese New Year, which I commemorate by thinking about the time beccatoria and I escaped from South Korea.

It's actually a pretty good story...

I am so very, very glad we did that. And I had a fantastic time hanging out with you to.

When Kev and I went back to South Korea on vacation before Christmas, in part to...I don't know, wrap up some of the unresolved emotional stuff from that time, we ended up walking through that same train station where we picked you up that day, so we went and found the spot where we waited and pointed it out, and talked about how much we liked that weekend. We were secret runaways - we were escaping - having a co-conspirator made it so much more fun. Especially one to geek out with and who introduced me to the concept of Helm's Deep made entirely of candy.

We are doing Chinese New Year-related things in class. Learning about it, doing crafts, watching really cute (or possibly just annoying) videos that most of us didn't understand, though my student who speaks Vietnamese recognized some words and two boys who take tae kwon do (sp?) picked out a couple that were familiar to them.

Some of them knew the animal of the year of their birth, but had no idea what their western Zodiac sign is.
