Morning Fic Recs
Aug. 17th, 2011 09:19 amBoth
femgenficathon and the
teylafen Teyla Thing-A-Thon have started posting fic, and since I've posted my own stories to both, I've been sloooooowly making my way through the rest. There is, as always, some amazing stuff.
Cho Chang and the Jasmine Code, by
xenokattz follows Cho through the Resistance during Book Seven, and it is AMAZING. There's Chinese magic, wonderful use of secondary characters (Krum, Alicia, Justin, Charlie), and Cho herself is magnificent. There are moments of fear and joy, people using their brains, triumphs, sadness (oh, Alicia has one moment that just DESTROYED me), and over all a fantastic look into Cho.
Spare the Rod, by
mrstater. This is Downtown Abbey, and I haven't actually read it, but I though
eolivet would like to know. ;)
It Takes A Village (And A City), by
tielan, shows us Teyla as she is: strong, terrifying, emotional, wonderful, vulnerable and loyal to herself. You do not mess with Teyla, Daughter of Tagan.
