Sanctuary: Out of the Blue
Jun. 14th, 2011 07:32 amWow. I'm glad they're not normal all the time. It's creepy! On the other hand, you know it's going to be a great season three finale when they show clips from the PILOT in the previouslies...
That said, it's never really a good idea when your SECOND LAST EPISODE involves a hundred new things. "Out of the Blue" indeed! I wonder if they'll all die at the end of next week (again) to create tension...
I kind of love Abby again. Thank goodness. This is what I meant in my earlier post: being awkward is okay when you're diving head first into a situation you don't really understand! *hearts her* The shortbread scene was awesome, and during most of her scenes with Will I bought them (well, I should say I bought them, but I kind of wanted to kill him...admittedly for playing a jerk really well, but still).
(This, btw, is yet another example of me liking Will when he gets to be Will, which happened from about the time he stole the paintings until the end of the episode. Before that? Robin Dunne doing an impression. And making fun of midwifery! NOT COOL!)
(You know what was cool, though? The S4K reference!)
AND JOHN! Holy crap, they kill me. Though I am slightly confused by the line "I married a man I hate" because, uh, yeah.
(AND YOU KNOW WHAT WAS THE COOLEST? JOHN IS A FREAKING BARRISTER. BE STILL MY HEART I AM DYING OF SOMETHING!)
I liked the coffee/tea scene, and the bit where Helen had to drive because Will couldn't, but MAN, the scene where Helen talks about being happy? *draws hearts and flowers around her* Kindler doesn't always nail it, but that scene, with everything from Will holding the kettle to the actual words, was just perfect.
Aside from that, I didn't recognize Dude from the batsuit episode, but I did call that it was the good guys who had put them under fairly early on. That said, it was still weird to learn 8 million things and get the set up for the last episode in the final three minutes of the show, but whatever. I can deal.
Um...aside from that I kind of have nothing, except I plan to live in denial for as long as possible and not watch the trailers for next week. Please do not spoil me.
And now: work. *sighs*

If we're meant to take from that line that that's how she feels about him now, I'm not buying that, even though I'm not a hardcore Helen/John shipper. I could buy that she isn't sure about what she feels, or that she isn't sure they can have something again. But hating, there are too many scenes in FK&C and Vigilante that point to the opposite.

That went waaaaay too fast for me. But I got the gist of it. Shit is happening. :P

Date: 2011-06-14 03:52 pm (UTC)That's kind of how I chose to take it. But, AGH, they kill me.

Date: 2011-06-14 01:54 pm (UTC)I agree with what Shad said. She wasn't a tool in this episode and actually acted normalish. Although, as another reviewer mentioned, I was surpised that Abby didn't get on Will about possibly sleeping with the crazy cat lady across the street since he was going over there a lot for seemingly no reason.
I was chuckling when Helen and Will had the argument over her cat and his dog. And you notice we really didn't see the cat (or Will's imaginary dog) the rest of the episode? At least I can't rememeber if we did.
And what's with Helen's big ass front window? If you're going to have that big of a window don't be surprised if people are looking in.
And I about died when Amanda tried NOT to cry. *wibbles*

Date: 2011-06-14 02:31 pm (UTC)She wasn't a tool in this episode and actually acted normalish. I have no problem with Abby acting like Abby... as long as she's not an FBI agent, because then it's ridiculous, which is why i was fine with her in this episode and even thought she was a little cute.

Date: 2011-06-14 03:55 pm (UTC)Me too! I was a bit confuzzled, I'll admit, because why would WILL name the dog after Druitt...but whatever. I got the barrister shout out so I don't really care.

Date: 2011-06-14 03:51 pm (UTC)She kills me, every time. That whole scene was just MASTERFUL. I could barely watch.
Frankly, I was so relieved that they didn't even try to go to the "sleeping with the crazy cat lady" place. They have to miss a couple cliches, even if only by the law of averages, and I'm glad they missed that one!
I WANT HELEN'S HOUSE! Just saying.

Date: 2011-06-15 03:05 am (UTC)Honestly, I felt like the ep was a little slow, or not varied enough, or something. I mean, I LOVED parts of it, and really did like Will AND Abby. (I FIND HER GIGGLES ENDEARING (when she isn't being overly stupid.)
John was just creepy. Creepier than when he's slicing open throats, actually. *shudders*

Date: 2011-06-15 03:44 am (UTC)Also, I can't imagine how many future Helen/Will vids will have the scene where they're looking through their windows at night. *I* wanted to vid that scene. :-)
(I have no clue for next week, either!)

Date: 2011-06-15 03:53 am (UTC)...I might have died, had that happened on screen. I was totally unprepared for the cuddling in FK&C and it nearly made me explode ("OMG, THEY ARE TOUCHING AND NOT TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER!!!!!"). I honestly might die if they ever kiss.
I...do not ever think about Will/Helen vids, to be honest. ;)
