(I'm going to have to crack and get a Helen/Nikola icon, aren't I? At least I have the space for it! *still twirling about that, btw*)

I imagine the first or second chapter will be called "The Pit and the Pendulum", and Helen will make a reference to it, and then she and Nikola will have the following conversation while he's stuck at the bottom of the chute and she's locked into the tomb above him.

"Really, Helen?"

"It ended well enough, didn't it?"

"It did, but you're not usually the type to wait for miracles. You make them."

"At the moment, I'm not averse to playing both sides."

"I love you."

"I told you to stop that."

That might be it for "cheery" for a while...but I'm having fun. And yes, I think this will end up basically being "Breach, But With Vampires". I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

Next up: making a playlist that is vampire apocalypse appropriate.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with it. I just fight this ship really hard a lot, because I'm not sure how I feel about it...

To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about it either. Sure, they're both really hot, and have amazing chemistry, and mad scientist fun together. But it's also unbalanced because of Helen's love for John and also to some extent Nikola's own agenda.

Which is why I feel weird writing a het_bigbang story for a ship I don't really ship, except in that weird "only in Sanctuary" kind of way.
