het_bigbang ideas (finally)

After signing up before the sign-ups were even open with an idea I didn't really have (because the power of irony_rocks compelled me), I FINALLY HAVE AN IDEA FOR Kiss Kiss Big Bang.

I blame holdouttrout.

The bad news is that it means y'all aren't getting any more post-eps for "Awakenings", Helen or Kate related.

The good news is that the story will be an Dark!fic AU ending of Awakenings, wherein Nikola never got out of the pit and Helen wasn't able to stop Afina from waking her court. So Helen and Nikola are going to get stuck and bond (and, uh, donate blood, of course), and Kate will do something awesome I haven't figured out yet, and Mary Kelly will save all their asses with Declan's help, because THIS IS JUST HOW MY BRAIN WORKS.

Obviously several of these details may change.

But bring on the vampire apocalypse!

The more I think about it, the more I like it, actually. Initially, I was afraid that it would be too much like "Blood Night", my only other quasi-vampire story that I wrote for SG-1 in 2005. And I think it will have a lot of elements in common, but the fact that I'm a better writer now will help.

Basically, I think that the only detail I need to change is that Nikola never gets the grappling hook in the bag after Afina throws him in the pit. And if Afina takes away Helen's pack, she loses the map.

My plan is to have Afina return Helen to the burial chamber after she wakes her court, and lock her in with Tesla still at the bottom of the chute. They bond, etc.

Meanwhile, Mary Kelly has been in a coma since she stabbed John back in 1898 ("The Monster and Mary Kelly"), and she wakes up when the vampires do (originally, Mary's abnormality was that she was a touch telepath, but she could read John without touching him for reasons I didn't explain, but decided today were Source Blood related. So when a bunch of vampires wake up, it kicks her out of her coma, and she and Declan...do something.).

Kate's awesomeness will come when she hears rumours about vampires (Afina chooses to stay underground and conduct renaissance missions, sending up a few vamps at a time. Kate will find out about them).

That's all I have for now! (Except the story will still end with Helen using the map to blow everyone up because a) Helen needs to save herself and b) committing genocide is an important piece of character development, and I'm not going to take it away from her.)

That sounds awesome. So does this mean you're doing the het thing with both Declan/Mary and Helen/Nikola?

Not Declan/Mary, but Helen/Nikola for sure.

I'm hoping to include flashbacks (by which I of course mean James), if I can work them in, if only to explain how Mary Kelly works. But then it'll have to be consistent, and I haven't thought that far ahead yet. ;)
