So I've had an emotional day, and only just now realized that this episode was called AWAKENINGS and the other episode was called SLEEPERS.

(I blame sache8 a little bit, because she reminded me that her novel is called Awakenings, and that's what I automatically think of when I hear the word.)

Well played, show. WELL PLAYED.

(I wonder if Quebec managed to blow this episode like they blew "Sleepers", which, in Quebec, was called "Vampires", thereby completely ruining the surprise of Nikola showing up around the 10 minute mark.)

This is probably not my last post for the day, as a warning.

OTOH, translating "sleepers" isn't an easy task. "Dormeurs" sounds silly like you wouldn't believe. Maybe "En sommeil", but that doesn't sound very title-y.

It's too early for me to think of what a good translation for "Awakening" would be. Seriously, English is amazing. You can do cool things with it that just can't be done in French, which makes titles very hard, but there's not much you can say with just a few words in French.

I don't so much care about literal translations...I just really dislike it when episode titles give away so much! I like it when they're clever!

Oh dear Quebec, 'Vampires' is an exceedingly lame title. Maybe they'll call this one 'Renaissance' or something, that's about the best I could come up with. It IS tough!

I have a thing for clever episode titles, and my opinion of "Awakenings" went up significantly once I realized. ;)
