More Thoughts About the Normandy Teasers

I have now driven for three and a half hours by myself across Alberta, which means I talked to myself about Sanctuary THE ENTIRE WAY, and I have more thoughts about the 2 minutes or so of footage we've now seen from "Normandy".

(Awakenings, I promise you, you will get a Deep Thought post later, but right now I AM JUST NOT READY YET.)

Okay, they had me when Helen and the French woman started firing large guns (OMG, HELEN'S GUN BUM! *dies* (though at least she was wearing an overcoat)), and then James ALSO had a large gun, and then Nikola said he needed to talk to Eisenhower, and then a car pulled up with no driver, and I had just enough time to yell "HOLY FUCK IT'S NIGEL!", and then I DIED OF SQUEE.

And then about an hour later in the car, I remembered the part about James getting shot and left behind like the noble idiot he is, and FREAKED OUT SOME MORE because I think that means that John has gone undercover to SAVE HIM and even though between that, the lack of suit, and the fact that Tesla's not even remotely old looking not in Jasenovac, hunting Germans (edited because I can't remember basic historical facts right now), the time line is SHOT TO HELL, I DON'T CARE because, OMG YOU GUYS THE BAND IS BACK TOGETHER AND IN PERIOD COSTUME (except Nigel, obvs.).

And because I might die in the waiting this week:

JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMES!

My guess about Nikola is that in 1943 it became obvious he was needed in London, and so the best thing was for Dr. Tesla to "die" and for him to turn up in London working with OSS and MI7! So here in 1944 he's probably up to his ears in a very secret project, which will last until sometime next year when he sells the death ray to everybody and all hell breaks loose!

Anyhow, that's my guess.

And yep, John is showing up to rescue James. Oh James will die!

Yes, Tesla's already "dead" and he's under cover, and even though this puts a kink in most of my favourite fanfics, I really don't care.

Tesla died in Jan 43, and Normandy is in June 44, so he's "dead" and under cover. Which I think makes sense. It even makes sense with Kill, as I don't specify when exactly that is. It could be anytime between June 44 and April 45.

I don't think I've ever been this excited about an episode that is set to joss about half the accumulated fanfiction in a fandom...;)

(Mostly in relation to James's apparatus. But, seriously, if we get to add more dates to the timeline, I'm okay with it.)

The next episode is Carentan, which is a battle on the Breakout from Normandy. So that looks like a two-parter to me! (I know more about 20th century military history than I do Assyrians!) *twirls*

That's what Amanda said. That there was an AU, and that she learns something about John in that universe that makes her come to a decision. That's all I know! :)

I have just forgiven Sanctuary for all the Will-centric episodes.

(I didn't actually watch two of them. That probably helps.)

I didn't think they were horrible. Just slow and disappointing. Wingman had some good Henry bits, and Metamorphosis was well done. They were ok to watch once, in my opinion, but not more than that. If the whole show were those episodes I could take it or leave it. But I didn't think they were awful. Just not up to par.

Things have been so insane since May started (and the last bit of April, to be honest), that I really don't have time for anything that doesn't make me die of glee. I'm a snob, apparently, but I also have a second manuscript and a third started, so I'll take it. :) Things will calm down eventually and I'll go back and catch everything I missed.

(Or things could never calm down...that would actually be okay with me. Calming down will probably mean unemployment again, and I think I'm over that.)

I've one more ep of Castle, and then it's just light summer stuff like Leverage and Warehouse 13, which I mostly watch because they make me giggle. They are 13 episode runs, so it's a weekend at some point when I get home from Jordan.

Oh, and Doctor Who. Maybe.

I hope that decision isn't something like, "It's time to get over John and find romance with other people" (based on what Amanda was saying about wanting Helen to have some romance) Because I will cry like a baby for my OTP.

As long as it's Helen, I almost don't care about Will. He does get to do cool stuff on occasion, or we wouldn't have Requiem and Veritas (and Kush, for that matter). ;)

Um. Does that mean that there might be an upper limit on Helen's longevity, and she (and we) are not going to know it until it hits all at once? I mean, it does make you wonder ...

I'm hoping Helen has another power she's just hidden. It's not fair if they all got something + longevity, and she only got the latter. To say nothing of Nikola who got activation of latent abnormal DNA and activation of dormant vampire genes.

I KNOW. My thoughts on that promo pretty much boil down to: OMG HELEN HAS A MACHINE GUN. And someone said something about grenades. But HELEN HAS A MACHINE GUN.

Since approx. 1/3 of my Sanctuary icons are Helen holding a gun, I think it's inevitable that I'll end up with another. BECAUSE IT'S A MACHINE GUN.

Yeah, I just watched that about 30 minutes ago and that's as far as my brain has gotten.
