Remix Reveal
May. 8th, 2011 10:00 amI wrote the MOST OBVIOUS REMIX EVER for Remix 2011.
How obvious, you say?
The One Where They Turn Into Cats (And A Dog) - The Nine Lives Remix
Well, for starters it's the only story in the entire collection that I didn't review. And, as
shadadukal points out in the comments, I make very revealing comments about the vocalization of cuneiform symbols. ;)
I like to think that I was a bit more subtle in my Remix Madness entries, for which I wrote:
Unasked Things (The Questions We Don't Answer Remix) for
tielan, (Untold Things, Kate and Helen)
Practical Arrangement (The Left Out In The Cold Remix), for
penknife, (Practical Arrangement, Helen/John, Helen/James, James/John)
(And then I went home and LAUGHED REALLY HARD because I was nearly sure that
penknife had remixed my "Peril, Peril on the Sea", which meant we'd both written the John version of the story, which I think is amusing.)
And Making Light (The Burning Man Remix), for
lferion, (Stolen Fire, Methos, Amanda)
That last one was my only successful attempt at subtlety, as it's a new fandom and a relatively new friend.

For my part, I've known that
shadadukal and I probably had each other since the outset. Not that that prevented us from teasing one another for the entire run. ;) I had a blast.

Cuneiform was a complicated language that could be vocalized any number of ways, but most of the symbols they’d dealt with so far had been activated by the Sumerian words that corresponded to the pictographs.
