Fic Rec: A Fairer House Than Prose, by pellucid

pellucid has finally posted her much hinted at Laura/Irina Alias fic, and it is simply marvelous.

The fic deals primarily with Irina's sense of identity, as Laura, as Irina, as a professor, as a KGB operative, and all the things in between. And since pellucid knows what she's talking about (well, at least with the English Prof parts), the sense of realism behind the words is just stunning.

This story is Irina Derevko as she could have been.

Sanctuary: Hero

You know, if someone had mentioned that Declan showed up in "Hero" as a motorcycle riding, massive gun wielding, hilarious British dude, I might have watched it. ;)

(The reason I didn't watch it, actually, was because the file was corrupted and I was in a hurry. Which is too bad, because apparently it's also a Kate episode. Who knew.)

Also, it turns out 1892 was a very busy year for Gregory Magnus. He made a road trip to Idaho and then disappeared on the way to Mecca. *adds to time line*

Henry is just killing me. JUST KILLING ME.

That said, my favourite exchange from the commentaries so far is (and I can't really tell Wood from Kindler after a while, unless they're talking about the actual job, so I don't know which of them said what):

"...And her name is Quelemia Sparrow."
"Which is, like, the best name ever."
"Yes, but in the pixie hollow, it's like being called Jayne Smith."

Someday, I really want to steal that.
