In which Kate realizes something about BSG that everyone else already knew, and now needs a hug )

On second thought, let's play the Battlestar Galactica Name Game, because I don't think I have yet, and now is as good a time as any.

William: Strong-willed warrior, desire, protector. Uh...done, I suppose.

Laura: Laurel, the wreath given to the victor.

Lee: Field, in English, but Greek names that start with that root seem to all be about light, so there's that.

Kara: Dear, cherished.

Sharon: The flat plains (Becca, no Grace Park acting jokes!)...so she's the Cylon equivalent of Lee? Tries real hard and just CAN'T so she reinvents herself and sticks to her guns? Or something? :)

Natalie: Born on Christmas Day. Um...yeah.
Shelley: Clearing near a ledge. Okay, that's probably a coincidence, but HA!
Gina: Queen, but doesn't her name actually stand for something?

D'Anna: Those all come back as Diana, the virgin huntress. Whatevs.

Samuel: His name is God. If you say so! :)

Saul: Borrowed. Also, probably an accident, but AWESOME, especially when one takes into account the Road to Damascus parts.

John: God is gracious. And, apparently, has a nasty sense of humour!

Tory: Short for Victoria, thus victory. Damn, she makes me uncomfortable!

Tom: Innocence or purity. See about re: God's sense of humour (also, between Zarek and Voldemort, I am SO OVER the name "Tom".)

Leoben: is not a real name, apparently. Though Leo means light, Ben(jamine) means Son of My Right Hand and Ben(edict) means blessed.

Simon: Listener...which at least fits with his doctor persona. And also plays in a bit to the episode where we met him.

Felix: Happy, lucky, fortunate. Uh...clearly never seen the show, then.

Galen: Calm. Unless the ship's in trouble, obviously!

Anastasia: Ressurection. Oh, Dee!

Ellen: Torch, Light. Dude.

...I am probably forgetting someone really obvious.

I thought it was neat how many of the names meant something about God or had Greek derivations. I appreciate that in a show, you know (see also: Castiel on Supernatural, which might be my favourite Naming Stunt of all time).

The Miami Project has discovered Hide and Seek. You play like this:

1. Put a blanket on The Miami Project's head and declare loudly "Where's [The Miami Project]?", "I can't find [The Miami Project]!" etc.
2. Continue until YOU, the GROWN UP, get bored.
3. Pull the blanket off and yell "THERE HE IS!".
4. Tacklehuggiggle.

Seriously. As soon as you put the blanket over him, he FREEZES and won't move again until you reach step 3. The Sister's taken to playing it with him on the Go Train, and it usually has the entire car in stitches.

Okay, so in that Five Things meme, all three people asked me about cake. It's kind of a weird story )
