In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit...

Oh, Richard. Oh, Martin.

I didn't enjoy the LotR movies very much, to my eternal sadness, but I'm still looking forward enormously to this one.

Honestly, my thoughts at this point run almost exclusively to things like:

"There will be DVD extras! And Richard Taylor will talk about weaponry!"

Because I am a DORK.

Admittedly, what I think I enjoyed most about the LotR films was when my husband and I went to see the exhibit of the costumes and props at Casa Loma, months before the first movie came out. So. Amazing.

I had to stop watching the vid on several occasions to just DIE OF GLEE, and that was one of them.

If we could have the new parts of Rivendell without Hugo Weaving being grumpy and skeezy, I'd be even happier! (So Not My Elrond.)

He'll be less dour in this one, at least. Heck, in the book he's not even an elf yet. ;) But he does get to one-up both Gandalf and Thorin over the runes, so maybe we'll see more "Indeed, it seems hardly possible to separate you, even when he is invited to a secret council and you are not!" Elrond and less "Gross omission of the truth" Elrond.

We can only hope...

Meanwhile, there is RICHARD ARMITAGE. *flails*

Gandalf is in Bag End again and I'm very happy about it.
