I realized this morning that I make this post every year, but have never actually gone looking for a clip on Youtube. So I did. And here you are:

(Caesar only gets the first thirty seconds, but if you keep going you'll get such classic lines as "Barfing on people is not an interpretation!")

Oh, Reduced Shakespeare Company. How I love you.

Hahahahahahahaha!!!

It's always good to be reminded that, yes, Shakespeare CAN be fun. ;)

I love this play SO MUCH! I was a) the assistant house manager (which basically meant I took tickets at the door), b) the stage hand in charge of costume changes (which basically meant I held dresses for the guys who played Juliet and Ophelia so they could dive into them during their three second costume changes), and c) an audience plant during the Workshop Scene. It's easily the best play I've ever been a part of. I had so much fun, and I love remembering it every year. ;)

There are still scenes in Romeo and Juliet, not to mention Hamlet, that I can't get through without snickering because of this play, but I think my favourite is the King Lear:

"Divide we our kingdom in three. Cordelia, you go long!"
"What's this? Fictional player on the field? Lear is disqualified, and he is NOT HAPPY!"

And the Othello Rap, obviously, because that's just hilarious.

The whole play is just priceless. And even the radio show's okay, though you can't actually see them which is half the fun. Easily the best theatre experience of my life. I had a BLAST putting on this show.

I adore this play. I was part of the audience with a bunch of my friends doing it. Best night of theatre in a long time. Their history of the world and their bible versions are pretty funny too, but Shakespeare tops them all.

When people start to find Shakespeare boring I always direct them to the RSC so they can laugh at it.

It's definitely my favourite play to have been a part of! I had a blast, even at 2 times a day for three weeks. :)
