Vid Rec: What About Everything (Sanctuary)

So there's this vid.

And it's not really full of effects or clever tricks to manipulate the story. The song isn't jumpy and heavy on the beats, making the cuts seem more interesting than they actually are. It's simple and deceptively easy looking, in fact. But this vid...this vid is freaking awesome.

It's awesome because it's a song I've never heard and now can't imagine anything better. It's awesome because the vidder captures Helen Magnus from every possible side, and AT's ability to play her laughing, crying, angry, happy, and ready to take over the world. The clip selection is still blowing my mind (I've only watched it all the way through three times, so things are still jumping out). The thought that went into this, you guys...is just AWESOME.

Hee! Is there any fandom that doesn't have a vid or two to that song?! My all-time favourite Farscape vid is to that song (I'd link, but it's been taken down from the internet--woe!), and there's at least one other FS vid to the song. And I've also seen a great Babylon 5 vid to the song. So viddable! :)

heh, and somebody (LithiumDoll? maybe?) made a great ensemble BSG vid to that song. It doesn't appear to be online though (it's not the one I can find, anyway). But that's the video that introduced ME to Carbon Leaf. :)

But yeah, I'm not really one for going to seek out vids, either. So I had no idea the song was that well vidded. heh.

Heh, a couple of my other fandoms vid EVERYTHING to Carbon Leaf (I think I have about a half dozen to that song alone), so I was worried about using the song myself -- but it was such a perfect Helen song, and after all, everyone has a first time for hearing any new song, right? I'm happy to have introduced more people to one of my favorite songs!
