*huggles huggles* I'm glad I'm not the only one who bawled like a baby at various moments of this book cuz good lord I totally did. Like massively so and ended up reading it all in one sitting cuz I couldn't put it down so I was crying outrageously at something like 3 in the morning.
Like you, I totally freaking heart Farmer and Beka's relationship. It was so fantastically well done.
I will say, I would have liked to see more of the side characters we fell headfirst in love with in the first book. While I can totally understand why Rosto didn't end up with Beka (though Tamora so TOTALLY hinted that George would eventually find out he'd grown up to follow multiple of his ancestors footsteps drat it all lol), I still was always kinda bummed by how much he and Kora and Aniki all but vanished in the later two books same as Tunstall in the second.
But then I'm greedy and want ALL the awesome characters at once even when it doesn't makes sense to the plot. Addicted to ansemble casts? Nooooo why would you think that?
(This is also the reason that while I LOVED The Circle of Magic Books, The Circle Opens was always just barely depressing for me because I wanted the group dynamic back again lol)
