Drive By Fic Rec
Jan. 10th, 2013 04:24 pmDespite my promise to myself not to read ANY alternate endings for The Battle of the Five Armies, I clicked on a story called STONEFLOWER about twenty minutes ago and...well...I've read A LOT of Hobbit fic in the past few days. And a lot of it was truly awful. And some of it was truly excellent. But this one? Is truly Tolkien.
The author is one of those that manages to combine book and movie timelines, dialogue and description, and the details of the source stories with excellent writing and a good story. And yes, it's a "Never Will Be", but as I was reading it, I swear I could hear the actors' voices doing the lines.
It's a WIP, but it's being updated fairly consistently.

In semi-related news, I have used this icon in 8 of my last 10 posts. Clearly I really DO need a better icon to talk about my feelings.
