This week's Waiting on Wednesday isn't so much "waiting" for me, as I got to read the ARC. But it's a modern Gothic Romance by Sarah Rees Brennan, inspired by Miss Marple and Veronica Mars, and incorporating perfect dialogue and excellent world-building (not to mention some word play that paid of BRILLIANTLY).

Anyway, the cover is also gorgeous and I get to make a completely gratuitous LotR reference, so take a look at UNSPOKEN.

Book #22: Claire de Lune, by Christine Johnson

A while ago, I put out a general call for "magical realism", which included any books where things like dragons, selkies or kelpies were common knowlege (even though not technically magic). No one suggested CLAIRE DE LUNE, but fortunately it was already on my reading list, so here we are.

8/10 for a great twist on werewolves, for musical titles, for healthy relationships and for how down to earth about everything Claire was.
