Fic Rec: Stargate Atlantis
May. 12th, 2010 11:22 amOMG, YOU GUYS!
oparu Is fairly new to my f-list, but she's certainly made an impression on me. Her newest SGA story? MADE OF BRILLIANCE AND WIN.
The basic idea is an Au wherein Elizabeth Weir is an actress who plays Dr. Victoria Higginson on the TV show Pegasus X-Treme (which is a spin-off of the show Wormhole X-treme). On the day when they're filming her character's death scene, she and her co-stars step through a brand new Stargate prop...and into the adventure of their lives.
John and Rodney just KILL me, Teyla is a mastermind, and the jokes about TV are so funny that I totally made a spectacle of myself at Starbucks.
Includes lines like this:
"Wraith are the basis for the fictional creatures you call Shades," Teyla clarified for them. "Only they are more frightful and cruel than we were able to depict on the show."
"Well, we were on primetime," Rodney mused, not quite getting it.
"Oh I know, think how terrible they would have been if we were on HBO?" Carson interjected.
And a line about how Lorne's team always gets it in one take that I can't recall exactly but might have done permanent damage to my spleen.
AND THE CITY ITSELF! OMG, just go READ IT.
I cannot recommend this fic enough!
