Oh, Ashley, how I still mourn thee!

I adored Ashley from the get-go. I loved that she was kickass, that she was a smartass, and yet still could be vulnerable and human at times too. She had so much potential, and it makes me cry still that we lost her. :(

The scene in Eulogy was heartbreaking, oh yes, but also was the last scene in the episode before that. Vamp!Ashley knocking Helen around a bit, and Helen appealing to Ashley on an emotional level. Then Kate firing a fricking rocket at V!Ashley (which, I admit, was kind of cool), then getting her butt kicked one of Ashley's back-up singers. But then, just as the back-up singer was going to deliver the death blow to Helen -- a single hand grabs back-up singer's wrist, stopping her dead in her tracks. Everyone turns to look, and it's Ashley. We see her eyes and it really is Ashley! Fans everywhere squeal happily!

Helen, still in tears, whispers, "Ashley..."

Ashley chokes out, "Mom..."

Then foom, they're gone. And fans everywhere stop squealing, gape at the television/computer screen, and promptly burst into tears. I know I did! I still get choked up during that scene! So much was said in that last moment in those two words alone! *wibbles*

Tell me again, why did we have to lose Ashley? She and Kate could have been awesome together, she and John could have whacked each other around as a way of getting to know each other (until John was taken over and went psycho on everyone again, anyway), and she could even have ragged on Tesla a bit. IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO AWESOME!!!!!

Okay, I'll shut up now. ;)
