(This icon is a stand-in until I find something more majestic, or at least something that encapsulates more of my UNEXPECTED JOURNEY INTO DWARF FEELINGS.)

There's new Babies of the House of Durin fic! This one is much more serious. It's a character study of Dis, as told by Thorin (who thinks he has failed her when, in fact, she is actually doing AMAZING things to help), and...yeah. It's not as happy as the others, but it's very, very, good.

Sons of Durin: In his darker days far from home, laboring for men in Gondor, in Dunland, and faraway in Bree, Thorin wondered if Dís bore her sons because she wearied of waiting for him, King of a scattered people, to gather them home again.
