Book #19: Return to Bone Tree Hill, by Kristin Butcher

Canadiana, coming of age - GIRL, murder mystery (maybe).

I honestly do not remember why I picked this book up. It's not "my thing". I probably just did it because it had the word "bone" in the title, and because the author was Canadian.

ANYWAY, it was...pedestrian. I figured it out well before the end. The only thing that was weird was how the subject of the mystery went from "boy she bullied a lot" to "person she was kind of friends with". I mean, I accept that she had memory issues because of the meningitis, but those memories were unconnected.

I did like the friendship between Jess and Jilly, the two main characters, and also the relationship between Jess and her grandmother.

Maybe I just find books about normal 18-year-olds boring? I don't know. At least the flashbacks were well delineated, which is more than I can say for "A Thief in the House of Memory".

So...6.5/10. It was good book, I just...didn't care.

HEY! I've reached my goal! And it's only MAY!

It's sad that the book wasn't very good because it has a great title. :-(
