No, I see this as being far worse. Female genital mutilation can make a woman have lifelong pain during sex, opens her up to some horrific infections, and is quite potentially deadly. Even in this instance, where infection and death are remote possibilities, there's still a loss of sensation and ability to enjoy sex, some serious potential for lifelong psychological scarring, and at the end of the day, it still seems to be all about controlling female sexuality.

And the "aftercare"? They may call it checkups, I call it pedophilia.

But, y'know, I'm one of those crazy feminists, so what do I know, right? (eyeroll)
