Korra: Civil Wars Part I

CAN I GET A "HELL YEAH" FOR A SERIOUSLY BRILLIANT TITLE?
GUYS. GUYS. I HAVE SOME FEELINGS ABOUT THIS.
Obviously.
I like how much time they are taking with the Water Tribe thing, and in laying out both sides of the story. Obviously I am on Team!Korra's Dad, but still. Korra's uncle has a valid point. He's just, you know, a terrible person.
I also really like how incredibly unimportant Mako is. It's kind of nice to see Korra by herself so much. That came out sounding really awful, but what I mean is that they are BOTH really bad at relationships, so they are giving each other SPACE, which means that Mako isn't going to help her, and Korra isn't going to ask him, and IT'S KIND OF A DISASTER, but emotionally, I think it's for the best. TEENAGERS ARE AWKWARD, GUYS, and I like the way this is being done.
Bolin. I just. If this plot was ANYONE besides Bolin, I would skip all the scenes. UGH. I hope it becomes relevant and/or interesting soon.
Okay, I think I'm almost ready to talk about Tenzin again. I think they are doing something very cool, from a writing POV. If/When Tenzin and Korra reuinite, I think they'll be able to talk their way through their own problems, and then get back to world saving pretty quickly. But that would be a short story. So instead, we get both of them dealing with these intense, personal (and intensely personal), issues, apart from each other. And it hurts. But it is absolutely necessary for them to grow, and eventually will make them all the more powerful.
I love how this show does messes. Last season is was Tenzin and Pema and Lin, and this time it's Aang's children. And, in each case, we see reflections of those problems in the younger generation. It's AMAZING, and I WANT MORE OF IT, THANK YOU.
UGH, THESE KIDS, I TELL YOU.
Next week. I can't. I have lost the ability to CAN.
