So we all know my feelings about Star Trek: Friendship is Magic, but I really think I need a text icon* that says "Well, if it isn't Captain James Tiberius Perfect Hair**" in my life. Has anybody seen one?

*I would also not be averse to a nice picture of Chris Pine. You know, for science.
**Or whatever the exact wording was.

Second nerdiest car commercial of all time? I'm on the fence (and predisposed to love Little Girl Vader, I mean LET'S BE HONEST!)

Hello!

I totally meant to do this yesterday, but had I done so, I would have been missing a fic, so I suppose it's all for the best.

The Affair of the Asphyxiated Acafan, by AJHall, Sherlock I'm not even finished this one yet, but you all need to go and read it right away. Because SARAH IS AWESOME, and that just doesn't happen often enough. Also, the case is magnificent, and the author's management of the characters borders on stupendous.

ETA: Having now finished the fic, just...go. Go now. Books and fandom and casework and continuity and AMAZING USE OF THE FEMALE CHARACTERS and...*brain explodes*

The Story Needed Mending, by [livejournal.com profile] mad_maudlin, Sanctuary JUST AMAZING. Fairy Tales and Awesome Kate and Awesome Ashley and JUST AWESOME (with hints of femslash). This is one of those fics where you think it's going one way, and then it does, but at the same time it doesn't, and it's even better for it.

Mariposa Grove (A Caelo Usque Ad Centrum), by [livejournal.com profile] bessemerprocess, Sanctuary. I think, had I woken up on Christmas morning to discover that this was my Yuletide Gift, I might have had an actual coronary. The Five are a mess, but it's a beautiful mess and it's a mess that they chose, and the structure and style of this story just BLOWS MY MIND. (Don't forget to check out the missing scenes when you're done.)

No Valentines, by [livejournal.com profile] penknife, Stargate SG-1 (Sam/Jack). Adorable doesn't even BEGIN to cover it.

There was something else, I'm sure of it. I may be back later.

This isn't it, but have a Star Trek fanvid, set to my New Favourite Song "What About Everything" by Carbon Leaf. ;)

OMG, YOU GUYS!

[livejournal.com profile] oparu has written the most adorable, most AWESOME Star Trek Voyager ficlet.

It's called Vile Poison, and I really can't improve upon the summary she wrote: Queen Arachnia and her consort Doctor Chaotica take on the Cyberlings and their half-Ktarian ally in a war of wits. (In this version of the story, Chaotica is played by Chakotay...and my spellchecker just committed hari kari.)

Seriously, though: BEYOND AWESOME.

ETA: There is also the equally awesome Just Like Camping which deals with what happened during the weeks B'Lanna had to overhaul the waste and sewage systems. It's a wonderful piece, featuring nearly everyone. I can't believe this wasn't an episode!

Via [livejournal.com profile] mylittleredgirl, an AMAZING Star Trek TOS vid, set to the most unreasonable song ever.

(It's a bit like Circus in that there are more literal clips than you'd think. AND GENIUS! And funny.)

I have read about six stories based on the new Star Trek movie. This is mostly because I am too lazy to wade through the fandom in order to find the good stuff, and am therefore complete reliant on my f-list to send the good fics my way.

This morning, [livejournal.com profile] tafkarfanfic did just that.

The story is called "The Many (And Mostly Untrue) Tales of Young Jim Kirk", and it's basically a short view into how Kirk makes himself into a legend without really meaning to. The ending is so far beyond brilliant, it was almost too much for me to handle at 6:45 in the morning.

You can find it here.

And then go read The Starfleet Annual Budgetary Memo: An Enterprise Tradition. But not while you're drinking coffee.

Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] tafkarfanfic, if you haven't read One Dimension Removed, you totally should. It's chock-a-block with Sha're goodness, and she's already working on the sequel. ;)

I really need a trek icon. ETA: And check!

Anyhoodle, there is a New Trek vid already! And it's to "Circus", by Britney Spears, which, I KNOW, but it manages to be fun and profound at once.

Circus: Kirk's a "put on a show" kind of girl (oh, you know he is).

Last week, OB-Wan gave me a chocolate version of the Defiant from Star Trek: DS9. I was immediately inspired to create Action Figure Theatre. I don't actually own any action figures, however, but I was determined not to let that stop me. )

...what will they try selling us next Easter?
